Izzy
Hobart and William Smith Class of 2022
Hey guys! My name is Isabelle Newman and I’m a Sophomore here at HWS. I’m from Canton, New York and am an Education and Women’s Studies double major. I’m involved in various clubs on campus: Three Miles Lost, our colleges all-female acapella group, Eye to Eye, A program that pairs college and middle school students with learning disabilities together to work on empowering projects, POAP, our Pre Orientation Adventure Program and more. My favorite thing about HWS is the sense of community. All faculty and staff members on campus are eager and willing to help! The small class sizes are perfect for me because I by the end of the semester I know the names of all of my classmates and I know that my professor knows mine.

James
Hobart and William Smith Class of 2022
Hello future college students! I’m James Kennedy and I’m a Sophomore at HWS from Port Jefferson, New York. I am a History and Education double major in the Teacher Education Program here at HWS. I am also a part of Hobart Student Government and the Classical Guitar Ensemble. My favorite thing about college is the freedom you have! In high school, you have a strictly regimented schedule that you always have to follow, but college is much different. There are no adults around anymore to tell you where to be or what to do. How you spend your time is (mostly) up to you! This freedom comes at a price, however, as you have to stay organized and on top of your planning to be successful. Be mindful about time and try your best not to fall behind, and you’ll be a great college student in no time!

ANU
Hobart and William Smith Class of 2022
Hey y’all! I’m Anu and I’m a sophomore at HWS from Queens, New York. I’m looking to major in Anthropology or Education and minoring in French and Studio Art. On campus, I’m involved with the South Asian Student Union and the Arts and Design Collective. What I like most about HWS and college overall is the opportunity for exploration. The Colleges let you remain undeclared until the second semester of your sophomore year! In college you have the chance to try new things and cultivate interests in various fields of study. This encourages you to not only develop yourself as a well-rounded person, but also trust your intuition in knowing yourself and making the right choices for your future path.

LOUISA

Hobart and William Smith Class of 2022
Hey! My name is Louisa, I am a sophomore at HWS and I’m from Skaneateles NY. I am planning to double major in Psychology and Education. I play on the Varsity Tennis Team and I work as a tour guide for Admissions. One of the best things about HWS is that the coaches, teachers, and faculty help give many opportunities for students to be very involved. Another great thing about the Colleges is the study abroad opportunities. My one advice for studying to college is to write a paper that sticks out and is unique, for I wrote about a time I messed up and accepted I was in the wrong.
